http://www.dzone.com for an aggregate of blogs (like digg for developers)

I used to like javablogs.com but the signal to noise ratio dropped dramatically (ie too much useless non-java stuff)

As blog software, I used pebble. It was good and it was free.

Not sure if that's what you meant though.

My favorite way of keeping a tab on what's going on in Java land was Erik's linkblog, but it is no longer active, although the old posts are still there.

I tried DZone for a while, but I hated having to click twice to get to a link, so I only go there once in a while when I have to fill in a small chunk of free time.

http://www.javablogs.com/ syndicates a lot of Java blogs (including the JavaRanch News channel )

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
