Hi,

Its due to specification mismatch, can you tell me which jsp/servlet specification are you using ??

Thanks bro for pitching in. I am not sure how to see that part. Though this is the DTD I am using in web.xml

RESOLVED
Here is an excerpt from other post by Shailesh Narkhede

Are you added jstl-1.2.jar this jar this is for JSP 2.1 (for tomcat 6).
Use jstl.jar with standard.jar you will info about that http://jakarta.apache.org/taglibs/doc/standard-doc/intro.html

This link specifies which jar to use for which version of JSP and container you are using. Thanks guys for the immense help. JavaRanch rocks.
