Hi all,

I am a new member to this site but I have heard good things about this site and its members and just wanted to see if anyone might have an interest in exploring this J2EE Architect role for a company headquarted in the Dallas, Fort Worth, Texas area:

Before I get into the job itself, some things you may want to know beforehand:

1) Local DFW candidates are strongly preferred
2) Candidates will not be expected to travel
3) Work hours are typically 40-45 hours week
4) The technical talent in this group is very good, but humble and hard working, and possess a sense of humor and lighheartedness
5) You will be working as a Systemware PS W-2 hourly employee


Today, one of our clients has the following opportunity available:

Application/Solution Architect with J2EE experience, .NET a plus
6 month, possible contract to hire
Location: DFW, TX
Start Date: ASAP


The objective in this role will be to migrate business applications from the legacy system to a distributed, messaging based architecture.

Prerequisites:
7+ years of experience with the software development lifecycle

3+ years of experience in the development lifecycle in a non-development role

5+ years of experience with modern technology frameworks (J2EE, .Net, CORBA. etc) in development or non-development roles

Experience maintaining, presenting, seeking approval, and monitoring conformance to technical architecture documentation

Experience integrating COTS applications

Experience architecting/implementing large scale, highly available IT systems

Experience with Object oriented analysis and n-tier system design

Use of relational databases

Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate:

Significant experience in requirements analysis and Use Case development.
Exposure to systems integration practices and message-oriented middleware solutions
Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture principles and practices
Strong verbal and written communications skills


Responsibilities:
Work with business leaders and analysts to understand functional and non-functional requirements while crafting a technical solution leveraging company and industry best practices and standards

Author technical architecture documentation utilizing design patterns, data models, and conceptual models of the proposed solution

Drive the architectural roadmap to leverage upcoming tools, standards, and technologies

Develop proof-of-concepts and perform research associated with new technologies and frameworks.
