Hi,

I draw a shape with tooltip in my applet.
With applet viewer, the tooltip comes out when I do a mouseover.

However, if I were to have the applet in html (using <object> tag),
I have to click the applet first (anywhere), else the tooltip
would never show up.

Can please someone explain the behaviour above.
Is the anyway to automate the clicking so that user need
not to click the applet?

Thanks in advance.

That is a notorious and well known IE problem.
If you google around, you will find a detailed explanation and solutions (via javascript).

Hi Maneesh,

I think you're referring to EOLAS.
But as far as I know, that's an obsolete issue.

The "Click to activate" message is not there anymore (I'm using IE8).
Anyway, I did try out the javascript which is suppose to solve the EOLAS
issue but it's still the same.

My bad. I rarely work with Applets nowadays. I just recalled it from something I had done sometime back.
Is it possible for you to try it out in a non IE browser to confirm it is not an IE issue?

Hi,

I tried with FireFox3, it exhibit the same problem.
I need to click on the applet to sort of activate it,
else the tooltip won't show.
