hi..

i don't know if this possible, or if this is the right forum, but i'm wondering i can create or use a java function that given a string (an ear name) it would result in a hashed multi cast ip between 225 - 238

for example given a earname of - underwrite, it would result in 230.1.1.1

this is intended to auto generate a multicast group for distibuted ehcache for distributed ears, where 2 replicated ears in different servers would have the same multicast group address and their caches would be replicated

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
