We just upgraded our http server in the DMZ. We are getting some 'file not found' errors. How serious are these type of errors? I work in the middleware and need to know how quickly I should get the programming staff to fix these. Do they slow down the server? Obviously something isn't working correctly, but we get no users reporting problems. I like my logs to be as clean as possible.
Thanks, any advise would be helpful.

IF you are not getting complaints from users, these request failure may come from:

1. Old URLs that people have found on the net or gotten in search results which no longer correspond to real locations
2. Web crawling software trying old URLs
3. Links on your pages that point to the wrong place

It seems to me that only 3 is something to worry about.

Thanks, I do think they are incorrect link for files. I will have to get developers to look at these.
