Head First team posted a link to Hemispheric Dominance test: http://www.mtsu.edu/~studskl/hd/hemispheric_dominance.html

Here are my results:

"You responded as a right brained person to 10 questions, and you responded as a left brained person to 9 questions. You seemed to be comfortable using strategies for both sides for the brain. Your preference may be situational and apparent mainly when stress in a factor. This does not necessarily mean that you are ambidextrous. However, you are on your way to becoming whole brained and will benefit from using study strategies useful for both sides of the brain."

Basically it says "You are a mess".

Is it just coincidence that the rightbrainers wrote the R&L on the right side of the number and the leftbrainers on the left side?

Definitely Ginger. this has always been an easy one for me. I mean Mary Anne was wholesome and kind of cute, but I like flash and style.

Just thinking (in the right sort of way!) that maybe structured programming (waterfall) is more like left side thinking, and object orientated (agile) more right side.

I wonder if the left-brainers are all right-handers
and vice versa.

My results: R=9 / L=10

I am very surprised as I have done some tests in the past and I got that I was way more right-brained than left-brained. I guess it is something that changes with age.

Our collective brain is at R 209 L 190 so far. In other words, R 9.95 L 9.05, or, roghly speaking, R 10 L 9. Hmmmmmmm...

So I am curious to see if what you just did by compiling those numbers, whether it would be considered left or right brained to do that.

And I am surprised that no one else agrees with me about Ginger versus MaryAnn. Unless, you are all MaryAnn fans and are too afraid to admit it.

When I was little I prefered Ginger. Now that I am older and wiser, I married a farmer's daughter. Take off the ritzy clothes and what do you have left? Other than a good time?

I'm with you on Ginger. I appreciate the underlying implications of form vs. substance, but when red hair is involved...

My question is why no one acknowledges the allure of Mrs. Howell. I happen to know she's a very strict mistress.

It just occurred to me that I sleep on my left side (never my right), so it's obvious that gravity must have some effect.

Also, why the focus on left and right when it comes to hemispheric dominance? Yes, the brain happens to be physically divided into a left and a right hemisphere, providing a convenient foundation for such debate. But what of the upper and lower brains? I think it's well established that the lower brain significantly stresses the upper brain (particularly in males).

I hereby propose the model of a 4-corner brain. The 1-brain concept is stupid and evil.
