If we want to use any of the JSTL library in the JSP,then we use the taglib directive to specify the library.Whicl specifying the library using taglib directive,at times we give URI="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/......",but at times we give URI="/web-inf/c.tld" ..waht is the difference between the two&when shall I use the 1st or the 2nd one?

Hi, Anuj. 1) URI="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/...... will be used if we use JSTL. 2)URI="/web-inf/c.tld" will be used incase if we use custom tag libraries.

Hi Chinmaya..thanks a lot for the reply...but if we use custom tag,we cant use core klibrary as c or fmt etc,as those are a part of JSTL?still using JSTL I have seen using /web-inf/c.tld....

Hi, Anuj. If we use JSTL, there is no need to specify uri="/web-inf/c.tld" . For compatability reasons we shouldn't mention like this.
