Is there a way to get the richfaces datascroller object to tell some client side javascript what page it's on?

My project has specified some kind of annoying behavior for the multiselect checkboxes we've implemented, and they require knowing that what page the scroller is on, and when a page has been changed ...

To specify, I see http://www.jboss.org/file-access/default/members/jbossrichfaces/freezone/docs/devguide/en/html/rich_datascroller.html

there is a
onpagechange HTML: script expression; a page is changed
but I'm not sure if there is some kind of param or variable I can read that will tell me what the current page is, either a page-level global variable or a way of passing the information to a function within that HTML : script expression... (and how does "HTML: script expression" vary from the "The client side script methods" used in the other things onclick?)
