Hi,

I was looking at headfirstlabs website and the preface for the book warned against downloading the EJB 2.1 spec for the old exam.Does this mean that this book wouldn't be a good choice for me to study EJB 2.1??

Duran,
While Head First EJB was a great book, it's really out of date. It covers EJB 2.0 not 2.1. (Which means local interfaces aren't mentioned.) And of course, it's useless for EJB 3.

If you can get a used copy cheap, I think it's still a good read for the concepts though.

Thats a shame....

I'm mainly looking for a book to help me understand the MOM concepts and messaging....for some reason these concepts are really difficult for me.Also ,'Mastering EJB3 3rd edition' has very little coverage\examples of EJB-QL.

But its not too bad, think I'm going to focus on learning portals for now and come back to EJB's in a month or 2 anyway!

Hello
I think it is worth a quick reading of the book anyway. I have just read it and it got me started, which is good. Now I am looking for a good cheap source of Knowledge for ejb 3.0? I already bought hf ejb 2.0 and i am not going to buy just a new one for ejb 3.0 right now? any help, a good starting point for ejb 3.0, apart from the spec? Thanks.
