I wanted to create a chat application on a forum(which i am creating).
but i didnt got the concept of how should i create the live chat on to it..


which concept i will use, and how will i manage it so that multiple users can chat simultaneously..

please help

What kind of chat is this ? Is it like a partly line where many users can chat in the same room ? Or is it like a one on one chat ? Let us know what kind of tool you are trying to make with a little more detail

its like on forum.. where user can chat( also called shoutbox)..

like many sites having it on one side and topics on other
i think i cant make you understand much..
hmm take a look at this site



i am taking idea from the looks of this Forum
so wanted to create the same chat or shoutbox on the forum

First step - get pencil and paper and diagram the data flows in terms of HTTP request, HTTP response, and Java objects.
