Hi all, I've gotten SCJP. Now I want to prepare for SCJD but I haven't known what I should do now? Please tell me how to have good preparation! What books I must read? Is there any thing as good as 310-065 Study guide of Katherine Sierra, Bert Bates?

Howdy, champ!!!

You can find the best references for this certification in the SCJD Reading Material session, in the FAQ of this forum. There, you can also find the answers for other doubts that you will certainly have. During the development, you may also have other questions that are not listed there. In this case, try searching for the answer here. If you still can't get rid of your doubt, please let us know and we'll be glad to help you get there! And good luck in your journey!

Hi Yen,

If you are looking for the best book for the SCJD assignment, I think Sun Certified Java Developer Exam with J2SE 5, Second Edition by Andrew Monkhouse is the best one. It covers the main topics needed for the SCJD assignment (rmi, sockets, locking, gui,..) using a sample project (similar to your assignment). If you have read the book and you need some more information about particular topics (e.g. rmi) you can read some other sources (like Sun's RMI Tutorial).
And another advantage: Andrew is regularly visiting this forum, sharing his thoughts/ideas/...

I have used the book as well (as many others on this forum). And I can say the book helped me a lot (just like this forum and all the nice javaranchers).

Kind regards,
Roel

Can't agree more. I'm just using this book. Really good. Gives you a great insight of some choices which could come along of the development.

cheers
Bob
