Please feel free to contact me privately on this to not pollute the forum with my selfish issues...

I'm planning to pull up stakes this summer (end of July, early August time frame) and relocate to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

I was just wondering if any of you folks happen to live in the area and wouldn't mind me asking about just about everything there.

Aloha,
Doug

Hehehehe, what a total setup.

Ranchers in Texas. That's like asking are there any movie stars in Hollywood. Wait actually they wouldn't be living in Hollywood. OK that is like asking are there any movie stars living in Malibu.

True, but I don't see many ranchers named Tex, Jesse or Daisy hanging out in the saloon .

You are ignoring Jess and Map (according to this post, the "name is probably derived from a flower known as "margaritka" in Russian which translates into English as "daisy".

And Tex seems to be mentioned in this and this JavaRanch Journal.

I grew up in Dallas. Everthing is wildly out of proportion now due to soaring population, but you may email me at fa eight, two ninety-eight ampersand g mail dot com - I keep that open most of the time because it is easy to get to - I will take a lot of questions, but with the caveat that I have not been there since the 87-92 economic desert...

As for seriously intending to live there, please provide some idea of what you consider important. Many of the cultural epicenters should retain an essence of their 60's/70's era purpose.
