getting session null instead of creating new session.

hi Below code in my servlet gives me null session.

HttpSession session = request.getSession(true);
System.out.println("Session : " + session);

[code]
Session : null
[code]

Hi in which condition i will get null session ?
because i am saying if session is not there create new session for me.

but still i am getting null session

what could be the reason ?

request is my HttpServletRequest.
