Hi guys,

I've managed to plough through EJB 3.0 in Action and have the Enuthware exam simulator software although what I'm lacking is some real experience of EJB 3.0 in order to solidify the concepts I've read about. I figure the only way to do that is to actually start using this technology, but being the un-imaginative type I can't think of a decent problem to solve!

Sure, I could create numerous EJBs and wire them into JSP pages and the JPA to prove a point but being lazy (as we all are) that's not going to push my knowledge and get me thinking.

In any of the books that people have read around EJB 3.0 are there any project specifications/outlines for this purpose?

Thanks,

Chris

Implementing the samples of EJB 3.0 in Action would be a good start, wouldn't it ?
If you're an Eclipse user, you can read a quickstart on how to use Glassfish and Eclipse here.

For me it took about three weeks of struggle to make EJB3 HelloWorld work. For some of my friends it took a month for them to make this work. It isn't always as easy as you think. Try to do HelloWorld EJB3 to begin with. During practical implementation you'll learn so many other things books may not have covered.

Go for the EJB 3 book from O'Reilly, it has got the JBoss work book which has lot of examples working on a JBoss deployment.
