Sounds weird !?!

Probably, our descendants may get this kinda facility in 2075, not too early.
Friends probably everybody have something in their life that they want to undo. Like Some nasty mishaps,GF breakups...anything.
So express your desire and strech the list bit more...

Well, sounds interesting and reasonable to discuss!

Would like to get back to the situations to correct the mistakes -- in abstract sense which includes all the preventive measures towards betterment!

Mostly would like to make the best use of the "precious time" which was of mere waste!

You know this is an interesting subject in that should you really want to go back and do it again, and how will that change where you are now, will you know for sure that it will make now better, or maybe just maybe, it would make it much worse.

I would highly suggest to forget the past or you are doomed to repeat it.

Why do I feel like I am just using other people's words in this post.

Anyway, I used to want to change all those past mistakes, but realized it is because of those mistakes that I really hate and wish I could change, but because of them led me to exactly where I am now, and if that means I wouldn't have met and married my wife, then I don't want to change them anyhow anyway ever ever ever.

Mark

To further Mark's comments - it would be great to be able to 'undo' certain elements out of the stack without disrupting the rest of the stack

If we have ^Z then we also should have a commit option.

If you decide something and perform some action you will have a commit option where you will perform the action and ^z will work only on the last operation that was successfully committed.

OR
do we have an indefinite ^Z option?

If I undo will I be able to remember that it's my second time... if not then I may end up doing same thing. What's the rule of game?

Yes Bert! this is another good aspect which closely relates to what Mark has said! I think we should be able to ensure as we got a 'chance' to do it again. aint i?

I think it boils down to be careful what you wish for... My dad used to tell me wish in one hand and do something else in the other (use your imagination here) and see what you get first. I don't wish anymore. Instead, I hope .

I was thinking the same thing a few days ago when I read Mark's reply. Even though my wife has been renamed "ex", my kids apply in this case

What a tangled web we weave...

Aloha,
Doug

Or as Captain Kirk said, (Good save me for quoting Star Trek, I promise I am not a geek, ok I am a geek)

"My pains are what create who I am today."

Or something like that in that 5th Star Trek Movie I think.

This reminds me of a time my English teacher asked what I would do if I woke up one morning as a woman. My response if I remember correctly(he flung a thick literature book at me after saying this) was "of course feel myself up".
