Nothing is an obstacle to a determined cat.

Those cats in the picture are ( nice word goes here ) Did you notice the site is sold out already? I can have Barn Cat models in production this afternoon. No direct competition, nice marketing. I will provide a picture of my hand after my cat says

Good Morining, I want Ff..ff.ff FOOODDD!!!-NOW!!!

We could integrate it into Paul's phone app. I'm serious, nice marketing - Barn Cat model. I actually started designing a Barn Cat model as soon as I saw the first graphic ) We could do an applet for the original site to show a co-operative position.

Mine was a stray I adopted from a shelter. Well, actually he adopted me. I was looking for an "exotic" longhaired cat, but his talkative personality convinced me I really wanted a "plain" black cat.

Is this a religious/cultural belief/tradition from somewhere?

(This is a legitimate question. I've never heard before about cats being evil so I'm curious. The only thing I've heard about is black cats being bad luck.)

Jeanne: not mine, no. Just a link I saw posted on another forum, shortly before I saw the "evil" comment, so it was the first thing that sprung to mind.

In medieval Europe, cats were often believed to be associated with the devil. During the Black Death many were killed outright, since the disease was believed to be God's wrath against evil. Which is unfortunate, not just for the cats of course, but also for the fact that the cats would have reduced the rodent population which was actually responsible for spreading the plague. Oops. Cats were also often thought to be companions for witches. Let's just say they weren't called the Dark Ages for nothing.

A great deal of wisdom that people once rejected as primitive superstition, such as a healer's herbs, are often found to have a scientific basis for effectiveness. It would not surprise me should scientists later eventually discover that there was something to those medieval accusations of witchcraft after all.
