Hi,

There is a case where the container detects that browser has disabled cookies, so it falls back to URL rewriting for session management; does this mean container no longer uses the "Set-Cookie" header for Session ID in the response?

When you use url rewriting the container does'nt use set-cookie again. Its a different methodology altogether.
Use Session in servlets as a replacement to that.

Hi,

First container check if your browser no longer support cookie then only container not set cookie value.

So, container first prefer cookie if not support cookie then only use URL rewriting, and append jsessionid to URL.
