When Garbage Collector going to removes unused String objects  RSS feed

Hi

Actually we know Garbage Collector doesn't touch StringConstantPool. Then how the java system going to reclaim the memory occupied by the String objects.

Correct me if i'm wrong. Thanks in advance

I am not sure if GC manages that or not, but I do not think that is a matter of major concern unless you are very sure that this pool is causing OutOfMemoryErrors.

Is that the reason you ask this question ?
