It is NOT true. If we use transient keyword those objects don't need to be serializable.

Indeed, perhaps a reference to transient would make it a more accurate mock exam question. B is still the best answer there.

I think it's a decent question; it's not perfect, and your original point is correct, as it clarifies the answer. It could be worded better, but making exam questions can be tough. Remember, somebody had to sit down and come up with 100 - 200 questions. As you could imagine, there's a point where quality suffers. It's understandable. The actual exam from Sun will be more refined.

I think you've nailed it. It's time to move on to more challenging questions and other concepts you might be less familiar with! I don't think this question is 'good enough' for you to get overly concerned with.
