How to make java program to run as a backgroud process

Hi,

we have a java program which will take a file as an input from the local computer and will copy it onto remote machine. Can anyone please let me know how do we make this java program to run in background.

Hi Sekhar,

I recently used Commons Daemon for a daemon application running on Linux and it worked quite well, although it could be a little bit more straight forward to configure and install an application with it.

Unfortunately no idea what would be best for Windows services.
