write file in ASCII  RSS feed

hi!
i have some characters in Hebrew that i would like to display them in dos file - that reads it as ascii.
I wrote this code:

but i get the text as ? instead of a hebrew letter.
what could be the problem?

The ASCII character set does not contain Hebrew letters, so this is not going to work if you use the ASCII encoding.

ASCII does not contain any Hebrew characters. If the DOS application treats all input as ASCII, then it won't be able to properly process files containing Hebrew characters (which would need to be in some other encoding, like UTF-8).
