Dear friends,

I am planning to buy book for SCBCD exam and I am new to EJBs. I have passed SCWCD on 29th July, 09 itself. Earlier I studied for SCJP 6.0 by Kathy Sierra & Bert Bates and for SCWCD 5 by Head First Servlet & JSPs (Kathy, Bryan & Bert).

I was planning to buy Head First EJB by the same authors. But I have seen everybody talking about O'Reillys EJB 3.0 (By Richard Monson-Haefel, Bill Burke) and EJB in Action (Manning Pubs). Is HF EJB not a good book for the exam?? They are extremely good writers isnt it?

Please help guys. And if HF EJB is not suitable for the exam, which one I should buy for the exam from the two?

Also tell which server should I use for the exam. I used apache tomcat 5.5 for SCWCD and I have also Glassfish 8 installed in my system.

Your quick response will help me a lot friends.

Thanks & Regards to ALL,
Vishal.

Hi Vishal,
I hope you are talking about SCBCD5.0 exam only. If this is the case them I am sure Head First Book is not enough since it is based on Ejb2.0 where as this certificaiton exam is basedon ejb3.0. I am also preparing for this exam. I am using Manning book and i find it pretty good. I have seen few threads in this forum and lots of people who cleared this exam are also saying the same.
all the best..

Hi Vishal,
I suggest you to go with Manning EJB 3 in action. That is a very good book, which explains the topics in a very nice way. Even I'm new to EJB technology and i did not find any difficulty in reading that book.
I've actually bought that book only after taking suggestions from so many people in this community.
