It wasn't visible here in the Netherlands ofcourse. There was something about it on the news, in a city in China where it was heavily clouded and raining, so people didn't see it, but ofcourse it went dark for a few minutes.

I did see the solar eclipse of August 11, 1999. We especially went to northern France to see it. It was spectacular. When I get a chance to see one again sometime, I might travel there to see it. There's going to be one on July 11, 2010 but it's going to be in a remote place, Easter Island. That's too far away for me...

Have any of our Indian ranchers seen yesterday's solar eclipse?

Not a chance. It was raining
However, there was a special flight was scheduled, so the lucky few could watch the eclipse from the sky! I saw the photos in my newspaper. Trying to find if they are online.

Here you go

I saw it on TV, it was clouded here in Bangalore( 6:24 AM is a bit too early for me ) .
I also heard that some people were taken on an aircraft by Cox and Kings to watch the eclipse.

We especially went to northern France to see it.

I was still in France at that time, so I saw it too.

Here is how the eclipse looked from a satellite: a black shadow on the Earth.

Looking forward for the next annular solar eclipse in January, 2010; Sri Lanka.

That will be interesting Devaka, but a total eclipse is more spectacular than an annual eclipse; it won't get completely dark with an annular eclipse. Still, cool to witness such an event.

Yes Jesper, but then I have to live for another 60 years, till 11 April, 2070 to observe a total eclipse here in Sri Lanka.
