Hi all,

I´m not sure about a definition in the spring mission statement present in the spring´s page. They aim that "Your application code should not depend on Spring APIs". Although in my arrive in Spring, I meet some great tools like DAOSupport and templates. However I thing that on the actually use of spring my code will depend on the framework. Isn´t some thing wrong in this definition? Is possible to use spring without depend on it?

Thanks in advance.

By not depending on it I understand "if I remove IoC, the application can still run with manual code". This way is easy to know if you depend or not on it.

On the other hand, in my opinion, there are things in which is impossible to remove dependance once implemented. Spring LDAP for example.
