I want to make a fingerprint recognition application
requirement is something like:


- 10 FINGER PRINT CAPTURE ,each on a template
- to match with 45,000 finger prints

1:N (45,000)

please advise:
is there any JAVA API available to solve my purpose?
if yes, then where i can find it ?
if no, then can anyone suggest the best way which can solve my purpose?

Fingerprint recognition is a specialized subset of the problem of extracting features from images.

Wikipedia has this nice article which can get you started at that end.

Next you will need to study the specific features in fingerprints that are used for identification.
