minor flaw in Denny's DVDs to report

Hi Ranchers,

If, like me, you've been consulting Andrew and Terry's SCJD Exam with J2SE 5 (2nd ed.), you may be interested to consider a certain apparent flaw in the accompanying Denny's DVD code. When an incorrect IP address is entered to start up the network client, no error message is shown, rather the program swallows the incorrect location simply by not responding with a window of any kind.

Digging more into this now, but if anyone else reckoned with it, would be curious for your comments...

Hi Grary,

Do you remember the topic about copying Monkhouse (you were also active in this topic I noticed). In this post I adviced not to just copy for some reasons, one of them being: although Andrew's code is great and has fantastic ideas, it is (like you noticed) not flawless. So you can adapt the same concept/idea, and improve where you think improvement is needed. And the issue you noticed, is certainly a candidate for improvement.

And if you dig deeper, you'll notice some other (minor) issues ;)
