XML signatures to certain portions of an XML document guarantees that the entire XML document signed has not been modified in transit.(True/ False) ?

Hi again!
XML signatures that applies to a part of an XML document can only be used to verify that the part in question has not been tampered with.
Compare to checksumming an array of numbers; if I checksum numbers 1 to 50 in an array holding 100 elements, I have the checksum for the fifty first elements. This does not help me at all if I want to verify the consistency of the second half of the array.
Best wishes!
