hi,
I was wondering if there is a easy and efficient way that you can override default jsf 1.1 messages.
I am trying to do that in icefaces.

It's not an icefaces thing, but yes, you can supply an alternate message text.

Unfortunately, in JSF 1.1, it's a one-size-fits-all text for ALL date validations, not per-control. JSF 1.2 does it a little better, but there's still room for improvement, even there.
