Hey,
In HFSJ it said,

Containers are not required to use any specific protocol to handle secure transmissions, but in practice they nearly all use HTTPS over SSL.

Why there are not required to use any specific protocol?
is it becuse of SSL. is SSL only for java containers? what is really SSL doing? is HTTPS is a replacement of using SSL?

Thank You.

I clicked the Search link at the top of this forum, and searched for HTTPS.
You can find a lot of same questions asked in the past, especially those related to HFSJ.
