in every crisis there is opportunity, the traders on wall street are panicking because their money HAS gone down whilst my money is safe(ish you can't trust banks now either) so i am free to observe the market without worry and as soon as that big up or down comes i can make money off it

you should get a confirmation email regarding how to fill in these details. I found this by googling. Thanks.

that does not mean one shouldn't invest. Recently investing in commodities(gold, oil etc.) has hugely outperformed stocks, real estate etc. Even investing in antiques might be considered by some at this point. And ofcourse there is currency trading for the unemployed.

THANK YOU ARVIND ! MY SAVIOUR

also when stocks are going downwards it is very possible to make money off of this through options trading, but the real danger is when markets are choppy. It is easiest to make money when the charts are moving up and down in large, predictable curves. However the market IS choppy right now so i doubt whether i'll see that big up or down BUT i'm p**s poor at the mo' and really need to make some $$

If that's a concern, then you're probably spectulating on the short term rather than investing for the long term. So good luck.

Well, just wander around and look on tables. Or look in things which look like they might be liquor cabinets. You're sure to find something to drink. If there's nobody to serve you, just help yourself. Glasses are in the kitchen.

This one time, I was at a party where the host vanished together with the port. Turned out that wasn't just bad luck for me, but also a harbinger of much worse to come...

when i said whats a greenhorn i meant literally we don't have that word in aus as far as i know and i don't know the meaning, and it doesn't seem as obvious as "ranch hand" (we don't say ranch either)

If only there were some world wide web of information where we could find out such things.

But Paul, you're a bartender, you're supposed to serve him.

"Greenhorn" is a word for "newbie" from the American west. I would imagine it's meant to suggest a young animal (steer, ram) with small, tender horns.

I suppose if we were to go with a kangaroo themed forum, we might have joeys (greenhorns), roo's (ranch hands) and boomers (bartenders).
