I have a question about the case studies used in the book. Is each case study a seperate example or do they build on top of previous case studies?

Most of the case studies build on our scaled down version of a petstore web applicaiton.
We refactor the pet store to use XSLT, Struts, JSP, etc. Then we use the test code to ensure that it still works.

Rick I checked your book out briefly at a local bookstore and it looked interesting and I know you've received a very good review on this site. Lately I've been learning struts and am trying to put together an app to help me learn. I didn't realize your book covered struts also. Is struts a major part of the book?

Michael,
Struts is not a huge part of the book, but we do use it in the case studies. The book would be a great supplement to any Struts development because it illustrates how to add Struts to an existing app (and verify that it works!) but it's not a book on Struts.
Cheers,
