When someone clicks on my rich:tree node, I have my code take the data stored in that node, and use it to populate various variables. I have this working right now like this:

This works just fine, but I need this to happen using a drop down menu rather than a rich:tree. It's obvious I will need to change the parameter being passed - NodeSelectedEvent event, as well as the two lines of code I left in the method there. Or probably just the first line is the only one I'll need to change, the only thing that should change in the second line is tree, because the variable will probably be called something else (like drop_menu?)

That is where the problem is coming in for me. I don't know at all what to do to make this work with a drop down instead of a rich:tree. Can anyone give me some guidance on this?

Should I post this in the java forums anyone think? That is where I started to put this, but figured it would probably get moved here anyway. But if any of you mods think it might get a response in the java forum please feel free to reply and say so or even just move it there.

I think I may have found something useful for this:
