Hi all,

I have a problem I'd really appreciate a solution to. In my application I have a bunch of "core" entities that basically define the standard part of my data model. I package these entities and the persistence.xml in a seperate persistence jar that is placed in the EAR's /lib.

So far so good. Now I'm creating various EJB modules that need to be built on top of this core and have entities of their own as well which are specific to these new modules. The thing is that I'll need to do queries in this EJB module that query on the core data as well.

For example :

I cannot figure out a way to get this to work. There is no way to merge the core entities with this specialized module entities as far as i know. Is there a way to "extend" the original persitence context, or inclide the core entities into the specialized persistence.xml somehow?

I hope my question is clear, and that someone has a solution for me ;)

Remon..

Nobody? Isn't this a rather relevant problem if you want to have a modular design? Am I missing an obvious solution?
