I had studied Java 7 years back and now I want to appear for SCJP 6 certification. Please guide me how should I prepare and what all study materials should I use.
I have not done any coding for the last 7 years. I have roughly gone through Kathy Sierra book and had attempted for Devaka Coorey's free mock tests. I found the questions very good and tough.
Please tell me how long will it take for a person like me to clear the certification exam with 90+ score and what should be the path that I should follow to acheive that.
Go through Ranch's ScjpFaq which lists all the info you need to know. Also consider the new SCJP+ (which we still don't know much about) comming soon( :wink) .
However, I would like to know the time (in days) required to clear the certification exam with 90+ score considering that I have not done any coding for the past 7 years.

Please ...please help me.....
I guess there is no definite answer to your question.
Most important thing is how quickly you can catch up with Java and learn the core concepts, specially those from K&B book.
SCJP is a tricky exam, it actually requires a candidate to understand the topics. And memorisation does not help at all other than some API contents.
Your first time score of Sierra Bates should give you a good indication of where you stand at the moment. And you need to get over 90% in the mock tests to be self assured that you will get 90+ in the real exam.
Now i've just given the free trial exam from whizlab a try and got 86%... Is this free exam (28 questions) of the same level as those commercial exams of whizlab?
So yes i think my score is good enough to pass right?
Are you confident after giving these mocks. If yes then you are ready to give. If not then give more mocks or solve the same mocks again till you are confident.
