BodyTagSupport with an initially empty body

This is separate from my last question, so wanted to ask it in a new thread.

Spring has the ErrorsTag, that will look like:



I want to call it from Java, inside of a BodyTagSupport class.



Until that errors tag is written to the body and evaluated, the body tag has no content. Where do I write things like that? doStartTag(), before the BodyContent is evaluated?

As far as I know you never call the Tag lifecycle methods yourself, this is done by the container !

Exactly, what you are trying to do is untenable. You'll need to rethink your approach.
