reading audio metadata via JAVA API ?

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
Hello,

I have audio-files of different types
and want to read/extract the metadata from these files (for example: wav, mp3, ..).

I want to read Metadata such as bitrate (8bit, 44,1 khz)
and other typical audio metadata informations.

For example, look at the program http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/de,
which gives all the information of a media type.
Exactly this is what I want, but I need that as a API for using it within a JAVA-Application.

Are there any APIs for such things?
Can I do it with Java Sound API or Java Media Framework API (JMF) ?

okay I found out that I have to use the java.sound - api:

Is this the only way ? Maybe it would be better to use java-media api.
