"action form" is not a core Java concept. To what are you referring?

ActionForm refers to Struts.

The ActionForm follows the JavaBean Standard and is used to hold the data submitted from a form.

Is holding the data the only difference between a actionform and a javabean?

Yuvaraj.

JavaBean is just a standard. Check the JavaBean Spec for explanation.

ActionForm follows that Standard and is a part of the Struts 1.x implementation
