Hello.

I am currently trying the catch on the JEE 5 updates, specifically EJB. I'm doing this by building up an example application into which I hope to encorporate most of the key technologies; EJB, webservice, persistence, JMS etc, although as I have only started I have only got as far as EJB.

Thus far I have been using the JEE 5 tutorial but I am not finding the detail I expected, for example referencing seperate EJB modules within the container, and more thouroug explaination on how the plubming EJB works.

My question is, are there recomendations for a good (clear explaination, and realistic examples) book on JEE5 to support my learning, or any addition web-resources. Or should I persevere with the Sun tutorial?

Hello Rich,

I do not know of a good book on JEE5, and I suspect that you will not find such a book, since JEE has lots and lots of technologies (EJB, JPA, Servlets & JSP, JSF, etc.), and you'll find really good books on each of those subjects. Since you are specifically looking for a good EJB book, I would recommend Enterprise JavaBeans 3.0 (5th Edition)
