Hi guys,

Before I buy the "Head First Servlets and JSP" book, I would like to get your feeling regarding this book. Is the book more than sufficient to pass the exam, or will I have to buy another book too - to pass the SCWCD certification ?

Thanks,
Pieter

I read the Head First book and the Sun Certified Web Component Developer Study Guide by David Bridgewater. This combination served me well.

To pass, this book is certainly enough. Just to be very sure of a good score, you can go for another book and glance through.

Hi,

Yes, I think "Head First Servlets and JSP" is enough to pass SCWCD exam with good score. I have just cleared SCWCD with this book only.

Different authors have different ways of explaining. And it can get confusing if you follow more than one. So I'd recommend reading one book completely, and then taking up another, if interested.

OK, but I have Head First Servlets & JSP v.1.4 of this book. What should I read more?

You'll be fine with this book. Check the author's comment here.

Thanks for that - I read it before, but I remember that I read a post on this forum that v.1.4 of the book is not enough. That JSTL and dynamic attributes should be add to read. I do not remember exactly the post.

Sorry Lukas, I forgot about that. You'll find the tutorial on dynamic attributes here.
