Hi!

In "Head First Servlets & JSP" , Second Edition, the only prerequisites I found to be mentioned in the book are on page xxvi, I quote:
What you need for this book:
Besides your brain and a pencil, you need Java, Tomcat 5, and a
computer.

(and the SCJP certificate, as it is needed for SCWCD)

But Question 12 in chapter 5 (page 215, solution on page 221) can not be answered just by learning from the book.
From answer D : getAttribute(“javax.servlet.forward.query_string”)

This attribute is never mentioned anywhere else in the book. It is also not mentioned in tomcat API docs in the tomcat/webapps/tomcat-docs folder.

Is this some "trick" that you learn by first failing on this mock exam question ?

Are there questions like this to be expected on the real exam?
If yes, how can I prepare for them?

Regards,
David

Yes, maybe something like that I have heard ranchers saying that some questions were asked before the topic was actually explained ! Don't panic. Ask here, or look in the Servlets/JSP specifications, and keep on reading.

If you mean about javax.servlet.forward.query_string, yes, you may have some.
