I am working on H1 in USA & to avoid waiting for 10+ years for my GC (permanent residency - PR in EB3 category),
I have applied for Canada PR. I think, Canada IT market is not as strong as USA, but are there jobs for 6 years of (design/ develop) Java / J2EE experience,
I tried to look for Java Jobs on job sites.... but I am not able to judge demand.

Can someone share experience or view on IT Job market in Canada compare to USA in terms of demand (salary is not the issue)?

Thanks.

The job side of this sub-forum is a pretty accurate barometer of how the Canadian market compares with our southern counterparts I've found in my travels. Off the top of my head if I had a green card there's about twenty java jobs I could apply too right now. In Canada? Maybe five, and they're all in Toronto. There's off and on demand for java dev in Ottawa, and you might see one biweekly for the rest of central Canada. I dont' know how the market is for Western Canada, but consdiering the economic slowdonw is hitting Alberta very hard, I wouldn't bet that they'd be hiring for anyone much, let along java coders.

If I was in your shoes I'd aim more for the US.
