Hi,
there are many threads in this forum suggesting that one should do the SCJP book after Head First Java. But there are different SCJP books with different authors, and probably approaches.

So which one are you actually suggesting? I guess you're all thinking about a particular one...

If you are going to give your exam soon, I would suggest reading Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates' book(it focuses more on the exam objectives). Else wise, if you got time you can read Khaled Mughal and Rolf Rasmussen's copy.

I'm not taking the exam yet. Just searching for the one that gives me the best boost, knowledge wise, after the head first book!

I would have chosen Khaled Mughal and Rolf's book in that case.

To start off, go through the api docs and then read the khalid mughal's book for SCJP6.

Do you mean the sun java tutorials on their site or the api itself?
If it's the api, I thought that will come with time and practice and there would be no use just memorizing the classes, methods, fields etc.
