Hi,

We have one Webstart issue which was recently encountered.

Suppose a machine had 10 users (Windows users) with Java version Jre 1.6.0_xx, once the installation of our software is completed on the machine with Admin login, we find the shortcut for our software on the desktop.
When any user logs in to Windows they are unable to find the shortcut on the desktop and if we try to retrieve the shortcut from javaws –viewer, the option for INSTALL SHORTCUTS is grayed out due to Jre 1.6.

If we click on Run Online option in javaws –viewer, the short cut doesn’t recreate on the desktop.

This issue has mostly occurred in Windows XP machines.

How to get the shortcuts for windows users also?

Please help me out in this.

Thanks in advance.

Chakri.
