Exam had problems

Hi all,

I took and passed the SCJP exam yesterday with a 78%. I'm really happy and excited . Now on to the good/not so good news. Most of the "drag and drop" questions on the exam were not working. For anyone who took the exam I'm talking about the blue and yellow boxes that you need to move around on the screen with your mouse. At least 6 of these questions were malfunctioning. There were some that displayed only the text in the destination boxes, which was not useful and some that were blank for both. All these cases made it impossible to complete these questions successfully

So I wanted to know if anyone else experienced anything similar?

Also is it possible to take this issue up with Sun? I know 78 is not a bad number but it does not truly reflect my abilities.

Thanks
Konrad

SCJP(78) ....for now?

Hi Konrad, welcome to javaranch.

First of all congratulations on your success . Secondly, don't worry about the percentage, its not printed anywhere on the certificate that you'll receive. Thirdly, I've personally never heard of such problem, but if you had it, then you should definitely complaint Sun about this...

Congrats Konrad,

If you can provide me with more details about exactly when and where you took the exam, and more details about the problems I'll get in touch with the certification folks at Sun.

thanks
,

Bert

Thanks Ankit,

I understand that the percentage is not displayed but its more for me and so that I would have a score that reflects my abilities more accurately. Because even though 78 is a good number I know that had I been able to answer the questions that I would have received a better mark.

Also how long does it take for the certificate to arrive in the mail?

I think it can take as long as 1 to 2 months for your certificate to reach you be mail, I got mine after around 1 month so keep waiting ...

It takes anywhere from a week to a month for the certificate to arrive. Yes the exam is fraught with pitfalls
