I amm planning to take my SCWCD certification after recently passing SCJP, how relevant will this book be in helping me to prepare ahead for this certification.

It must be quite relevant, being a book for SCWCD

If that's the case, I will like to give it a try and probably recommend it to others if I get on well with it

Great to hear you're going to give it a read, and we always like your feedback. More information (e.g. sample chapter, table of contents, regional availability) can be found in my post in the sticky thread.

I guess the question was more like - is the book + exam enough for the test?

Well we couldn't (or, at least, shouldn't) advertise it as a "Certification Study Guide" if we didn't think the combination of book + your own practise + test questions (including full mock) is enough to allow you to pass. So yes, if you like a no-nonsense approach then the book will get you through the exam. Obviously you should also get your hands dirty with some practical experience too (designing and coding your own example Web apps).
