I have the Artimus Struts example up and running and would now like to study it closer. Can someone direct me to where I can find the source for packages like org.apache.struts.scaffold and for the various commons packages. I have only been able to locate the class files.
I have found some references to these packages on the web but they are mentioned in the context of CVS. Do I require CVS to see this code?

I'm not positive, but I believe struts.scaffold has been replaced by commons.scaffold. You might be able to find out more information at Ted Husted's Struts Site. You can get the latest source for scaffold here. You can also check out more about Commons at the Jakarta Commons site.

I too thought that the common-scaffold and struts-scaffold packages might be related i.e one replacing the other. I downloaded Artimus 1_0_b3 and it includes both: they are clearly different.
I downloaded the Struts in Action book and it refers to the org.apache.struts.scaffold package yet I can't find the source anywhere (it's awful hard to extend a class when you don't know the method signatures!
I had checked Ted Husted's site but both links referring to scaffold are stale (I can't reach the server) all other links are fine. The Jakarta commons site does not reveal anything about the struts-scaffold package. Any other suggestions? My searches have all lead to dead ends.

You could check out the struts-user list. You might be able to find an answer by searching the archive. Or you could join the list and ask there (but be aware it is a very active list).

I'm having the exact same problems. I've checked the scaffold project in apache commons and they don't have a jar to download and the links on ted husted's site are down. Seems like it should be easier to download and use these classes especially since husted uses and refers to them within struts in action.
Has anyone found a link to the jar?
Thanks,
Dave

The scaffold classes come bundled with the struts source code, which you
can download from http://jakarta.apache.org/site/sourceindex.cgi
