Hi,

I want to know which would be the best reporting tool out in the market? I am looking for a generic tool to configure how we would like to group, sort, filter, etc... and there wouldn't be so many changes.

Thanks,

There rarely is a single "best" of anything - it depends too much on the requirements. Crystal Reports is probably the most widely used highly capable reporting solution.

You can use jasper reports or crystal reports for your application. There are many tools like jfree reports, ReportMill are available as freewares. I suggest to use jasper or crystal reports.

BIRT is also good. It has the advantage of a mature Eclipse-based report design GUI.

Hello,

You may evaluate Stimulsoft Reports.Fx for Java. Very good reporting tool. Now it looks like a java wrapping around the flash inside. In December the product will be a pure Java project.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
