About Hashmap

Can any one say algorithm for Hashmap and what is the default size of Hashmap. And also same for Arraylist?

You could try reading the javadoc entry for HashMap and ArrayList

Go into your Java installation folder and explore it until you find a file called src.zip. Unzip that and explore it until you find the HashMap and ArrayList classes (remembering the folders reflect the package structure). You can open the code with a text editor and read it and see for yourself.
