Hi Friends, I am new to xml. I want to know what is need for xml in webapplicatoins. I know it is used to store data and transfer data from one machine to another. Apart from this , is there any other uses?

Hey,

Depending on the framework you choose or API's that you use, you would probably use XML for configuration and input of parameters.
Spring for example can use XML for Dependency Injection.

There is never a "need" for it - alternative approaches are always possible. Fundamentally, it's just a file format - it can be used to store whatever you care to store in it. Think of it as a more structured (and more capable, and thus more complex) alternative to CSV.
